“Happy New Year! “
When we say those words we usually say them with a gusto fueled by joy, exuberance, and excitement. However, for some, this time of year can be laden with melancholy and laments of regret about time gone by or unmet goals and aspirations. Added to that may be feelings of trepidation, worry, sadness, and perhaps an ennui that nothing has or will change in the coming year; just more of the same from last year.
Yet nature and time dictates reality. We are in a season of change and transition no matter what our personal perspective. As the saying goes, “time waits for no man.” Time marches on as does nature’s cycle. The beauty of that cycle is that it revolves around a repeating pattern of hope.
Life and time’s endings are never truly final but intertwined in an eternal loop with new beginnings. For something to begin, something else must end, and vice versa. You cannot have one without the other.
Time, nature, relationships, jobs, personal goals, political strife…you name it …all are tied to this cycle. To invoke the 1960’s band, “The Byrds,” to everything in our lives, “there is a season (turn, turn, turn) and a time to every purpose, under heaven.”
That turning the Byrds song about is the change from the old to the new to support our life’s purpose at this moment in time. So rest easy as we turn the corner on another year and begin a new loop around the sun. Grab onto the hope that comes with all new beginnings and carry it with you throughout this year.
Whether we’ve known you for a while or just recently met, our sincere wish is that you and your circle of family and friends enjoy a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
Keep being amazing!
